The Patch, Nicorette Gum, and Commit Lozengers
All deliver nicotine to your system at high levels. Be advised: NEVER smoke a cigarette when wearing the patch, this is a deadly combo and can send your heart into cardiac arrest. With the gum and the lozengers be advised long term use causes mouth, throat, and stomach cancers. Cost varies. Success rates: 10-15%
The Shot
The shot is a serious halucinogenic cocktail of chemicals injected behind the ear. It is a combination of a tranquilizer hydroxyzine along with scopolamine which causes loss of memory and visual problems. It is mandatory you have someone drive you home after the injection, and for good reason, as your memory and vision are impaired. Many who have tried the shot have had to suspend all activities outside the home for up to a week. The follow-up is generally a dosage of Zyban which is another tranquilizer. Cost $500-$1,000. Success rate not verifiable.

Chantix
Chantix is a relatively new oral prescription. It's premise is to suppress endorphin levels and receptors to the brain for smoking. There are serious side effects including extreme nausea, severe stomach pain, depression, and suicidal thoughts. Attempted suicides have been reported. One man with no history of depression tried, without warning, to take his own life. Stated in the prescribing information; in rare instances, suicidal ideation and psychotic episodes may happen. Also stated in the prescribing information; depression and anxiety are frequent side effects.
It is not uncommon for people trying to quit smoking "cold turkey" to feel anxious, somewhat depressed, and impatient. The reason is their endorphins crash creating stress and anxiety for another cigarette. The very reason why they are addicted and cannot quit in the first place. The whole idea behind Chantix is to suppress the endorphin levels even further which can lead to more anxiety and deeper depression creating a downward spiral. Cost $120 monthly for 3 months totaling $360. Success rate: 30%
